New Dynapro AT2 (right) offers off-road grip, and is certified for use in countries where winter tyres are required by law be used in countries that require winter tyres by law, so it’s perfect for that annual European skiing break.

Hankook says it has concentrated on balancing grip over rough terrain with performance on tarmac. The Dynapro AT2 replaces the AT M, and has a double-layer carcass and reinforced shoulders for offroad durability, as well as a protective layer to reduce belt damage. For tarmac, there is a silica compound plus a tread that not only optimises shifting water from under the tyre, but also self-cleans by ejecting mud and stones picked up off road.

The tread design also improves wet braking on tarmac when compared with its predecessor, while the stepped blocks help minimise the extra road noise created by the aggressive tread design. The compound offers improved durability, too.

The Dynapro AT2 is available in common 4x4 sizes for 15-22-inch rims, 225-325 widths, and 45-85 profiles. Speed ratings are from R-H (up to 130mph).
