WHAT EXACTLY IS ‘MOBILITY’?

‘Mobility’ is the buzz word du jour for car makers. Yet most people I ask have no idea what it is. In essence, it’s the way we get around. Car makers, keen to move away from traditional car-selling models, use the term to describe other services and products they will offer, such as car sharing and selfdriving cars.

It’s hard to imagine a world where the car ownership model will be outdated, but this is what car makers are planning for. Mobility will become fundamental to the car industry’s future. Just please call it something else.
