TECHNICAL LAYOUT

The new 508 is underpinned by the EMP2 platform common to the popular 3008 and 5008 SUVS. Conventionally powered models have multi-link rear suspension but the battery necessitates the more compact torsion beam on the hybrid variant. Our test car drives its front wheels alone through an eight-speed automatic ’box, but a more powerful four-wheel-drive variant with electrified back axle is coming.
