Ian Titchmarsh Former BTCC commentator The British Saloon Car Championship race supporting the 1962 British Grand Prix at Aintree was special, partly because it featured two of my favourite touring car drivers – Jack Sears and Michael Parkes – and partly because these two English gentlemen duffed up the pushy, weaving Australian champion Bob Jane in the John Coombs car, and partly because it was at my home circuit. It was also one of Jack’s favourite races. The gap at the flag was 0.2 seconds.
