Try the world’s most expensive lighthouse
While he has great designs on the White House, it’s the Light House that’s also capturing his imagination.
And for £ 3500 a night you too can sleep in probably the most expensive lighthouse in the world.
Donald Trump has released the pricing for the iconic retreat on the edge of Turnberry’s Ailsa course.
The doors were officially opened today ( June 1) after an eight month restoration of the 110 year old golf resort.
And while prices of rooms have risen from about £ 250- a- night to a minimum of £ 389, it is the cost of the lighthouse that has captured the limelight.
Sources say Trump himself will quit the election trail and jet into Scotland on June 24th for a ribbon cutting ceremony.
He is sure to visit the 78- foot high light, which still flashes out into the Clyde after coming into service in 1873.
The two- roomed accommodation - ironically called the “Presidential Suite” - has a private outside terrace and will feature the finest luxury fittings.
Donald Trump’s son Eric, who is leading the resort overhaul, has already hailed the plans as “unbelievable”.
He said: “The lighthouse hasn’t been touched in 30 years and is a structure that is iconic to Scotland.
“We’re going to spend many millions of dollars doing it up and frankly it deserves that.”
The public will also be able to dine in the grill room at the lighthouse.
Boss Ralph Porciani said: “We have always known that the newly renovated Trump Turnberry would be among the finest hotels anywhere in the world. The Trump Organisation has spared no expense – it is a genuine masterpiece.
“Trump Turnberry sets a new standard for luxury and service. During the refurbishment, every detail has been scrutinised to ensure that we deliver an experience of the highest calibre, which will attract guests from every corner of the globe.”
Trump has spent £ 200 million upgrading 103 guest rooms and restaurants.
The 500 capacity Donald J Trump ballroom will open in August.
