City taxis head for town

The 71st Annual Glasgow Taxis outing to Troon is on Wednesday, June 15.

The fleet will be welcomed to the town by Provost Helen Moonie, Citizen of the Year Peter Simnock, and the Gala Queen and Princess.

The Parade leaves Troon Swimming Pool at 1pm via Barassie Street, Portland Street and Ayr Street.

Troon Commu n i t y Councillor­s are expecting more than 200 taxis.

C o u n c i l l o r A n n e Cameron said: “Businesses Patna, had become “hysterical,” Ayr Sheriff Court heard.

She admitted acting in a threatenin­g or abusive manner, causing fear and alarm, shouting, swearing and threatenin­g violence on April 25.

Colin Adam, defending, said both Walker and her partner had mental health difficulti­es.

Sheriff Desmond Leslie said: “If you are starting to abuse gas, that is something you need to look at carefully.

“There may come a point when you are going to have to be locked up.”

He put her on 18 months social work supervisio­n. in Troon have always been extremely supportive over the years and this is greatly appreciate­d by the Glasgow Taxi Associatio­n, the people of Troon and all the visitors to the town on Taxi Day.
