Fair deal for whole family at church do
Allan, a solo piper, before the Cumnock Highland Dancers entertained with their skills. A variety of music came through the afternoon, with Rogues Gallery, Matt Scott, Wildcard, Bobby McCallum and All or Nothin.
Plenty of other events took place around the fair, with a variety of events including the chance to meet Uncle Billy, make a free key ring, trampolines, Bunny Luv, face painting, as well as the chance to meet and greet a variety of characters, including Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Olaf from Frozen and Doc McStuffin.
There was also a display of vintage tractors, an assault course in Beechgrove Park, a ride at the top of Castle Street, Owl Magic in the Mauchline Parish Church kirkyard, as well as rides in the Loudon car park, and water sprees beside the bleaching green. Petrol Chimps also presented a modified car display.
A spokesman said: “Thanks to those who have supported Mauchline Holy Fair 2016. Thanks to those who have donated through our JustGiving page and contributed to our wee yellow tubs around the village.
“Many thanks to the Fairburn for letting us hold our meetings there and thank you to all the businesses who purchased advertising space within our programme.”
However, the future of the Mauchline Holy Fair is uncertain.
A spokesman said: “The large scale of this event it too much for only six committee members and the lack of stewards and volunteers on the day puts an increasing amount of pressure on the remaining committee members.
“We ask you to come forward and join our committee if you wish the Holy Fair to continue as the event’s future cannot be upheld by such a small group of dedicated volunteers.
“The future of Mauchline Holy Fair depends on it.”
