The courses around the estate take runners along roads, tracks, cross country – and rivers, streams, thick mud, and deep trenches. Muddy Trials more than lives up to its billing as the World’s Muddiest Race.

For kids there’s the Muddy Mile – a chance for youngsters to get into the mud too.

Kids of all ages welcome ( with parental supervision) over a short, but still extremely muddy course for little legs.

All finishers will receive a goody bag, and there are individual and team prizes on offer too.

Following the recent success, and extreme muddiness, of the ninth Muddy Trials mud run at Craufurdland Estate, near Kilmarnock, the Muddy Trials’ team have been rewarded for their efforts.

At the inaugural Obstacle Course Racing Scotland awards, the Craufurdland team were awarded the ‘ Best for Mud’ accolade, beating all other mud run events in Scotland, including Tough Mudder, the largest mud running event race north of the border.

Simon Houison Craufurd, MD at Craufurdland Estate, said: “We are over the moon. Ayrshire gets a lot of rain, which means lots of mud and now we even have a trophy to prove it.”
