Council seeks mineral views
East Ayrshire Council wants to hear the views of local residents and businesses to help plan for the future of East Ayrshire.
The council has published a draft main issues report, the first stage in the preparation of its new minerals local development plan.
The report focuses on the big issues facing East Ayrshire in respect of minerals, ranging from new extraction to restoration and community benefit and much more in between.
It outlines possible approaches for responding to these issues and seeks the views of all stakeholders including local communities.
Consultation on the draft main issues report runs from August 9.
The document can be viewed at all East Ayrshire libraries, as well as the Cumnock Area Centre on Greenholm Road.
The report can also be viewed online at www. eastayrshire. gov. uk, where you will also find full details of how comments can be submitted.
It’s anticipated that a main issues report will be published in October once consultation is complete on the draft main issues report and all views have been considered.
There will be a further full public consultation with opportunity to comment at this time.
