Make a date for the boat jumble sale

Boat fans should make a date in their diaries as the West of Scotland Boat Jumble returns to Ayrshire.

For the third year in succession Irvine harboursid­e will be the venue for the event taking place on Sunday, October 2 from 10am.

The Scottish Maritime Museum Wharf, The Harboursid­e, Irvine will host the event that sees boat and sailing enthusiast­s from all over the country.

If you need rope, fittings, fenders, oars, fishing gear or the choice of a thousand other bits and pieces, then Irvine Harboursid­e is where you will be guaranteed to find them.

And there are also stalls available for clubs and individual­s to organise a stall selling surplus gear at the end of the season.

There are 5x5m pitches available for £ 30 and 5x2.5m car boot spaces for £ 20.

Entry to the boat jumble will be £ 4 with accompanyi­ng children under 16 years of age being admitted for free.
