The golden scissors of one of Ayr’s top barbers stretch near and far.

Such is the draw of Mark and Karen McCrorie and their team, that hairy folk come from as far as Dumfriessh­ire.

K& M Barbers in Kyle Street have sponsored a Sanquhar based youth football team for the third year.

Nithsdale YFC is an under- 17s side Dancing shoes Like to dance? Join in the dancing at Troon Concert Hall every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 1- 3.30pm. Make friends and socialise over tea and coffee. £ 2.50 a session. Chess A new chess club is now open to players of all abilities – absolute beginners to advanced. The club is held every Wednesday afternoon in Troon Library at the following times: adults 2.15- 3.30pm, and kids chess from 3.45- 4.45pm. Chess sets and instructio­n from the chess leader are given during the sessions. The Open Doors 2016 continues at Portland Church during the month of playing in the West of Scotland league.
