Spy cracker to thrill Gaiety

A new production of a John Le Carre spy thriller is heading to Ayrshire.

Democracy, based on a true story about the relationsh­ip between a 1970’ s German Chancellor and his personal assistant who was exposed as an East German spy, comes to the Palace Theatre in Kilmarnock on Friday ( September 16) before See visiting Ayr’s recently reopened Gaiety on Thursday, September 22.

The play stars Taggart’s Colin McCredie and River City’s Sean Scanlan as well as American actor Tom Hodgkins and former Brookside man Neil Caple and is touring theatres around Scotland.
