Writers to hold book fair

Ayr Writers’ Club is holding an Authors’ Afternoon Book Fair this month.

It will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 22, at the Carrick Lodge Hotel, Ayr.

Ayrshire authors, in conjunctio­n with Ayr Writers’ Club, are hosting a book fair and there will be an opportunit­y to browse and buy their books. There will also be a chance to talk with authors about the writing process and their journey to publicatio­n.

There will be more than 10 writers and their works present, including crime writers Michael Malone and Douglas Skelton, who will be keen to discuss their latest published novels A Suitable Lie and The Dead Don’t Boogie.

Kirsty Wyllie will be present to discuss her books that include The Winter Fairy.

Ladies from the LiterEight writing group will be there with copies of their books including short story collection­s and their latest book Stomping Good Stories for Children.

Children’s writers Dorothy Gallagher, Greta Yorke and Maggie Bolton will also be present with copies of their children picture books that include Dorothy’s The Scarecrow and Greta’s latest publicatio­n Tartan Witch.

Catherine Czerkawska will be showcasing her latest historical novel, The Jewel, that is about the life of Jean Armour, the wife of Robert Burns.

Babs Stevenson will have her debut novel The Organist on display.

Everyone is welcome to drop in to The Carrick Lodge Hotel for a browse, a natter or a cup of tea and catch up on the latest literary fayre available from 11am to 3pm.
