McKinstry Company at the double for top prizes
Ayrshire law firm The McKinstry Company, is celebrating a double accolade from the Law Awards of Scotland.
Ayr- based McKinstry’s nomination as finalists for high street firm of the year saw them hold off stiff competition to win the award for the second time.
The judging panel, comprising leading members of the business and legal communities, pointed to McKinstry’s vision shown in developing relationships with its clients, rather than being transactional- based.
Judges also commented on the strategic growth and development of the practice and its commitment to staff development and considered examples of excellence which were endorsed by client testimonials.
Managing partner Graeme McKinstry was also named managing partner of the year.
Graeme, who was recently appointed president of the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce, was praised for his leadership skills which drove the development of the practice, not only in terms of its growth but service delivery and repositioning within the market for legal services.
His impact on the selection, retention and development of key personnel was also noted.
Mr McKinstry was also recognised as being a leader in recognising the need for change in the delivery of services in a dynamic market for legal advice.
Graeme said: “I am delighted on behalf of all of my colleagues, the lawyers and support staff whose collective encouragement, application, diligence and unwavering commitment to the highest quality of service delivery has been acknowledged by the judges and this award reflects the contributions which are made by the entire team.
“Managing lawyers is notoriously difficult because they are fiercely independent of mind and highly capable individuals.
“I am fortunate enough, however, to have around me a team who tir tirelessly work for the collective good of the practice and that alone makes an otherwise daunting task both a pr privilege and rewarding and I am ve very grateful and appreciative to the ju judges in receiving this accolade, the tim timing of which could not be better as I am developing a management co consultancy to the legal profession.”
