“I hope they rot in Hell” - Arthur’s sister

- Stephen Houston

The sister of murdered Arthur Green says she’ll be

Name in here in court to watch the brutes who killed him get sentenced.

And Gina Sweeney said: “I hope they both rot in Hell.

“They didn’t just murder my brother, they mutilated his body from his head to his feet.”

We told last week how Ayr pool hall boss Harry Hood, 46, and his mechanic mate Ross Russell, 35, were convicted of 60- year- old Arthur’s murder.

The pair went to his Bullet Great bit of home in Pleasantfield Road, Prestwick Toll, two years ago to silence him.

Hood lost the rag after his parents were being continually disrupted next door due to noise.

And when their window was smashed, that became the last straw.

Gina, 64, who lives in Ayr, said Arthur was a drinker - but he was a decent man.

Gina said: “We have been through this for two years and Hood and Russell have been walking about while Arthur is six feet under.

“I just don’t think either of them care about what they did.

“Arthur actually did get on with his neighbours Mr and Mrs Hood.

“Arthur worked in a factory in Leicester and hurt his back so he couldn’t do the job.

“That’s why he came back to Scotland. The reason he liked to take a drink was because he couldn’t work any more.

“Arthur had his faults like everybody, but there is no way he would have harmed the man and woman next door.

“To say he was a neighbour from hell is not right, as he used to talk to them at the back door.

“Arthur would only ever drink in the house or go up the road to the Pleasantfield Bar for two drinks and then home.

“My other brother Richard and I will be back in court to see them sentenced.

“I hope they rot in Hell for what they did, and that is being honest with you.”

Arthur was beaten with such force his heart, liver and ribs were all burst.

The pair are due to be sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow on January 12.
