2016 - a year of big changes
12 months of tragic losses and Brexit
Scotland – with barely a Tory MP visible on the horizon – has been reluctantly dragged into the mire thanks to the handful of nervous ninnies in Westminster.
Is it any wonder the Scottish Nationalists have the scent of Indy2 in their nostrils?
I don’t accept the Teresa May and the new Tory guff that “Britain has spoken – and we must deliver”.
To be blunt - until she wins her own election - I don’t accept Teresa May at all!
The immigration issue that hijacked and finally overwhelmed the EuroReferendum wasn’t Britain speaking... it was England protesting.
My wish for 2017 is for a government that can see the difference between one country dissenting... and the whole of the United Kingdom deciding.
Given the Euro referendum again tomorrow – the “remainers” who didn’t vote last time would be out in droves. And I predict at least 10 per cent of “leavers” will have changed their minds now the harsh reality of Brexit is a wolf at their door.
And the UK out of Europe will surely and ultimately lead to Scotland out of the UK.
It makes me wonder if we might have been better off if David Cameron had lost his first referendum instead of his second one.
And I never thought I’d be writing that sentence in the last days of 2016!
