Your guide to the best gigs around Ayrshire
After a weekend full of festive cheer, it’s down to the serious business for partygoers as Hogmanay looms large.
And there are plenty of parties to keep you busy throughout the weekend.
In Ayr, the top show is undoubtedly the Hogmanay Hootenanny at Ayr Town Hall with music from Electric Warrior, The Big Slinky and The Peas.
Music lovers in Prestwick have the choice of the Mike Gill Hogmanay party at the RAF Association Club, or a top Michael Buble tribute night at the Parkstone Hotel.
And in Kilmarnock, the Port Town Rockers perform at the Rock Hard Cafe, Slider bring in the bells at the Bellfield Taver and Fanny by Gaslight promises a night of top tunes with their Hogmanay party.
There’s more gigs around Ayrshire throughout the week, with Losing Ground at Kilmarnock’s Fanny by Gaslight on Wednesday and a Freddie Mercury Tribute Evening at Elliots in Prestwick on Thursday the highlights.
And as well as these top performances you can still find a host of open mics and jam sessions to shake off the festive cobwebs.
