-

South Ayrshire Swim Team star Kat i e Rober tson took two junior titles and a senior bronze at the Sco t t i s h National Open Short Course Swimming Championships.

Competing at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh, Katie, 15, clocked just outside her best to finish ninth and win the ‘ B’ final in the 100 breaststroke.

In the 50 breast, a personal best of 31.83 gave her third senior with victory going to Commonwealth Games medalist Corrie Scott.

Katie took the Scottish junior titles in both events. Both of her times were still outside her big sister’s Scottish records set in 2014.

Erin Robertson qualified for the ‘ A’ final of the 100 breast and a time of 1: 09.79 placed her seventh overall.

In the 50, Erin was off her best pace and clocked 32.0 to finish fourth.

Cameron Muir continued his transition into senior swimming with finals in all his events. His highest finish of eighth came in the 100 IM with a 57.78 which was a new West district record.

Caitlin Duffy made the ‘ B’ finals of the 100 and 200 backstroke to finish 16th and 10th respectively. Her 200 time of 2: 17.30 was a lifetime best.

Euan Leslie has made superb progress and qualified for his first senior ‘ B’ final in the 100IM but he was disqualified for an incorrect turn in efforts to gain more time.

However, this did not stop him knocking chunks off his best times in the 50 and 100 freestyle and breaststroke.

Alasdair McGhee was targeting finals and was unfortunate to be a reserve in the 200 back and 400IM after recoding best times of 2: 08.40 and 4: 35.29.
