It’s just the job for youngsters at Prestwick Academy

-

S2 were given the opportunity to meet with a number of employers and representatives from industry ranging from the Armed forces, to local businesses, and Scotrail.

Pupils were given a short presentation from each group and were encouraged to ask the representatives questions about what the skills and experience necessary for these employment opportunities which they may wish to pursue in the future.

Many thanks went to the representatives who gave up their time to come and speak to the pupils in order to give them an insight into possible future careers. Mini Tennis tournament

Jamie Young in S1 took first place today in the South Ayrshire competitive school sports mini tennis tournament held at the Prestwick Tennis Centre.

Jamie was closely followed by Thomas Taylor in S1, who won second place.

This was an excellent performance from Prestwick Academy, especially as the school’s pupils earned four out of the six top spots in the finals. Prestwick Academy was a hive of activity in the run up to the holidays.

The musical pupils showcased their talent at the Christmas concert under the direction of Mrs Dippie.

All year groups thoroughly enjoyed their Christmas discos and as usual demonstrated their community spirit by donating items for the Christmas Parcels.

Pupils also raised funds to support future pupil activities during Christmas Jumper day. Pupils had the opportunity to attend a Christmas fayre featuring the school nail bar business The Stiletto Gals.
