water and within the sport.

Prestwick also operates a successful established Affiliated RYA Training Centre which provides RYA syllabus for shore and water based courses. This includes RYA Level 1 and 2 for adults, Powerboat, Safety Boat, RYA youth Stage 1, 2, 3 and 4, RYA Performance Racing and RYA First Aid.

The club runs a Summer School when around 90 youngsters engage in sailing off the beach in Prestwick. The message is book now for 2017. Prestwick Sailing Club runs a successful RYA Sailability programme in partnership with South Ayrshire Council and an Ayrshire charity which provides sporting opportunities for disabled people.

This involves young people with a range of deaf, visual or sensory impairments. With the exhilarating experience that the young and adult trainees take away, this has identified a demand to develop and expand sessions to give more trainees this same experience and to lead and develop a pathway on the water and into the sport.

The RYA have rewarded this initiative by making Prestwick Sailing Club an accredited RYA Sailability Centre.

Chair/ Commodore Paul Gilmore and his management committee take great pleasure on providing Prestwick SC as a base hub facility for water based sailing activities. These efforts have been acknowledged by RYA Scotland and sportscotland.
