Tesco donate Scottish treats to Braehead pupils

-

Sarah Jane McDonald Braehead Primary Nursery had a surprise visit from Tesco Extra Ayr as kind staff delivered traditional Scottish treats.

Pupils joined parents and staff to learn all about Robert Burns with a fun morning devoted to the famous poet.

They shared verse, created Scottish- themed crafts, sampled local treats and recited the brilliant works of the Bard.

Tesco colleagues, Sarah McAussland and Jean Sullivan, from the store on Whitletts Road, went along to the event.

They delivered and served up traditional Scottish products including oatcakes, shortbread and haggis.

Tesco store manager, Steve Dobson, said: “It is great to see children at such a young age learning about Scottish heritage and traditions.

“Both Sarah and Jean had a lovely time and were made to feel very welcome at the nursery, we are delighted that we were able to help out by providing the refreshments.”

Braehead headteacher, Sandra Campbell, added: “Parents and pupils had a lovely morning reading poetry, singing songs and getting creative with crafts to celebrate Burns Night.

“The local products from Tesco also went down a treat and helped to make the event that bit more special, we would like to thank the store for their support and kind donation.”
