LECK’S YOUNG STARS Auchinleck pip Prestwick for the Sutherland trophy

Auchinleck juniors beat Prestwick 49- 26 to reclaim the annual Bobby Sutherland Trophy.

Scores: S McAllister 15, L Brown 5; F Young 11, A Sturgeon 13; D Lennon 23, J Law 8.

Heather Kay, Claire Johnston and Hannah Smith, together with team manager Jean Sykes, travel with Scotland to play in the BIWBC Internatio­nal Series at Belfast from Friday to Sunday.

Heather, Claire Hannah and Stacey Wylie will play for Scotland in the British Isles fours against Channel Islands on Monday.

The final is scheduled to take place on Wednesday.

On Sunday, the Scottish Young Indoor Bowling Associatio­n National finals will be held at Aberdeen with Auchinleck’s Fraser Young, Sophie Reid and George Robertson in action.

Prestwick’s Morris Sturgeon failed in his bid for National Senior Singles glory on Saturday at Paisley when he was beaten 21- 13 by eventual winner George Prosser ( Lanarkshir­e) in the semi final.

On Sunday, Ross Gouldstone and Rebecca Houston travel to Aberdeen to play in the finals of the SYIBA Pairs. Rebecca bids to defend her title after winning last year with Darren Weir.

Paul Foster travels to Belfast next week for the British Isles Singles where he will either play Thomas Greechan ( Channel Islands) or Mark Harding ( Wales) in the semi final after receiving a bye.

Paul could become only the second player to win the Scottish, British and World Indoor Singles titles in the same year.

On Friday, the club host their annual race night from 7pm with all members and friends welcome.

Saturday, March 18 sees Prestwick Howie host their monthly Wappenshaw within the stadium.

Anyone wishing to attend should add their name to the sheet at the office.

Ayr gents crashed from the Scottish Cup when they lost 6- 4 to Ardrossan at Cowal.
