A guitar maker is to launch its own range of signature straps.

Bailey Guitars, which calls itself one of the UK’s leading artisan guitar- builders, has hired Glasgow- based Mighty Beast to create the accessories.

The Kirkmichael firm’s line will launch with a series of hand- crafted, leather- free guitar straps from £ 42.

Owner Mark Bailey said: “We have always prided ourselves on being an ethical brand, from our commitment to renewable energy to the careful choices we make about the materials we use for our guitars.

“Having Bailey- branded guitar straps and accessories is something we have wanted to offer for some time so we were delighted to discover Mighty Beast’s range of leather- free guitar products.

“Mighty Beast has created a diverse range of comfortable, stylish and sturdy guitar straps which compare favourably with equivalent products made of animal- derived materials such as leather.

“The company shares many of our own philosophies about doing business ethically and delivering the highest quality of product and service to our customers.

“It is the first time since we started that we have been able to have our own customised, quality straps so it really is a perfect match.”

Rachel Robinson of Mighty Beast said: “I jumped at the chance to collaborate with Bailey Guitars.

“Mark is a world- renowned expert in guitarmaking and I have the highest respect for the craftsmanship that goes into each of his guitars.

“I’m delighted his enthusiasm about Mighty Beast matches mine.”.

She awent on: “When I first visited the Bailey workshop and saw my straps being used with Bailey guitars I was amazed by how both the guitars and the straps worked so well together. They gave each other a truly distinct character.”
