Music in Ayr hits the high notes
The 2016- 2017 concert series Music in Ayr, promoted by Ayr Music Club, came to a sparkling end on Saturday evening with a performance in the Octagonal hall of Alloway Parish Church by the Scottish Reed Trio.
This ensemble of oboe, clarinet and bassoon delighted the audience with a wonderfully varied programme of music ranging from Handel’s “Music for the Royal Fireworks” to Twentieth century Show Tunes and included music by Mozart and Beethoven as well as works by less well- known composers.
The relaxed and happy rapport felt among the musicians was easily communicated to the audience to the obvious enjoyment of all.
The first concert of the 2017- 2018 series will take place on Saturday, October 14 and will feature the Gould Piano Trio.
