-

The Organist Entertains returns to Ayr in April for the ninth season, by popular demand.

Last year, there were 1,620 listeners to 35 concerts. As in 2016, the season will start at St Columba Parish Church, Midton Road. Calum Robertson, deputy organist at Old St Paul’s Episcopal Church, Edinburgh, will play at noon on Monday, 3 April.

John Turner, veteran freelance organist from Glasgow, is to play on 10 April. On Easter Monday 17 April, the notoriously versatile international musician, Gordon Cree will reveal some unique sounds from the Allen Computer organ in Holy Trinity Church, Fullarton Street. And on 24 April, Chris Nickol, organist at New Kilpatrick Parish Church, Bearsden, will play at St Columba Parish Church.

All concerts take place at noon and admission is only £ 3, as last year. The concerts are arranged by Fort, Seafield and Wallacetoun Community Council to showcase the superb Lewis pipe organ in Ayr Town Hall and the organisers plan to be back there from 1 May.
