Put your cash on Dalgleish

-

In just over a week, the 2017 Flat turf season kicks off at Doncaster with the highlight of the opening day on April 1 the Lincoln Handicap.

It’s a season that poses so many questions. Can Jim Crowley make his switch to be stable jockey with Hamdan Al Maktoum a winner after last season’s success in the jockeys’ title race?

And will the man Crowley replaced at Shadwell, Paul Hanagan, roar back to form after his return north and grab his third jockeys championship?

It’s all intriguing stuff and I have a few predictions of my own.

First up, I predict Keith Dalgleish will again post a year on year improvement in his winners’ tally – something he has achieved since starting out back in 2012.

I think Keith can hit the 90 mark this year and look out for him having great success with his two- year- olds. I believe he has something like 40 in training and has high hopes for some.

I also believe Iain Jardine will continue his fine work from his Dumfriesshire base and train more than 50 winners. On the jockey front, look out for apprentice Rowan Scott having a good few winners. Rowan has left Ann Duffield’s yard and is now based with Keith Dalgleish and great things are expected.
