Marr can home in on the Premiership

-

Ti tl e - c h asing Ma r r Rugby will close in on the Premiership with a win at home to Musselburgh on Saturday.

The red- hot Fullarton men have won 19 of their 20 games to lead the BT Premiership by four points from second placed Edinburgh Accies.

They need only six points from their final two games to wrap up the title.

And that will fire them into Scottish rugby’s top flight for the first time ever and set up two mouth watering derbies against Ayr next season.

Marr will look for a bonus point win against their ninth placed visitors and on current form are firm favourites to do so.

They have racked up 786 points for only 301 conceded and have a differential which is 134 better than Accies.

The Edinburgh side have by far the tougher test on Saturday with a trip to fourth top Falkirk before closing at home to Aberdeen Grammar.

The Ma r r mi n i s tournament on Sunday was postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Carrick entertain Hawick Harlequins in the semifinal of the BT National Shield on Saturday and are only two games away from retaining the trophy won at Murrayfield last season.

In the other semi, Gordonians are at home to Murrayfield Wanderers.
