Ross is boss with late goal

-

Academy Ross Love powered a terrific header from a Gabe Skeoch corner to give Ayr 17s a 1- 1 draw against Partick.

The goal came six minutes from time and earned United a deserved point after Partick had taken an interval lead against the run of play.

Head coach John Crawford said: “There were sound performances in all areas and the equalising goal would have been fit to win any game.”

Ayr: Graham, Wardrope, Brown, Love, Oliphant, Barker, Millarvie ( capt), Sisi, Connolly, George, Skeoch. Subs: Thomson, Dillon, Bryce, Mitchell, Ecrepont, McLaughlin, Brotherston.

Ayr ladies beat Moray 5- 0 with goals from Claire Masterson, Rachel Scott, Canon McIntyre, Hannah Taysum and Tamara Sommers to reach the second round of the League Cup.

A double from Kari Stewart wasn’t enough for the U17 girls who lost 3- 2 to Glasgow City in their first league game of the season.

Fixtures: On Saturday, the 11s and 12s travel to play Aberdeen. Sunday’s opponents are Motherwell – 13s at Kilwinning Sports Centre ( 11am), 14s at Belmont Academy ( 1.30pm) and 15s away. The 16/ 17s travel to Motherwell on Monday evening.
