Robbie is here to stay, vows Ayr boss
Robbie Crawford is going nowhere soon.
That’s the message from Ian McCall who insists the 22- year- old is a big part of Ayr’s plans for next season.
The Somerset boss said: “When I first arrived, I thought Robbie was going to be an absolute star.
“Then for whatever reason, he stuttered last season. But now at a higher level, he has turned himself into a really vital player for us.
“He has been terrific and it’s great that he has come through the academy. He won’t be going anywhere.”
Two others in McCall’s forward plans are Michael Rose and Declan McDaid.
He said: “Even although we could have players back for Saturday, I don’t envisage Michael Rose out of the team.
“He did well at Dunfermline and has the potential to be a really good central midfield player.
“Declan is another young player with pace and I am hoping that we can increase his contract.”
The Railway End will be open for home fans on Saturday. And this could be repeated.
