Presbytery’s Got Talent raises £ 2000 for Malawi

-

There is talent galore among our church congregations – that was the message from a packed church hall in Prestwick.

A full house crowd enjoyed a Presbytery’s Got Talent night at Kingcase Church Hall last Friday evening.

Almost £ 2000 was raised to support projects in Malawi, where a team from the presbytery are visiting in May.

Cash will go towards community groups, orphanages, hospitals, churches, guilds, assisting widows and the Ekwendeni HIV/ AIDS Church of Scotland project plus many more.

An 18- act concert programme began with a choir from village churches singing ‘ Rhythm of Life’, ‘ You Raise Me Up’ and ‘ The Rose’.

Acts followed from Auchinleck ( Jack Schendel on tenor saxaphone), St Nicholas ( Dalrymple Ukulele Orchestra), St Columba ( Sophie Hart singing ‘ Count on Me’ by Bruno Mars), Monkton Prestwick North ( 1st Prestwick Boys’ Brigade’s award- winning drama ‘ Ayrshire’s Got No Talent’ ), Kingcase ( Sunday Funday Club with Evan Warrender singing ‘ Celebrate’), Auchinleck ( Skye Schendel plauing ‘ For Good’ on piano), Muirkirk ( Sylvia Doole, singing and violin), Auld Kirk ( Magic Malky), St James ladies (‘ Twelve Days of Christmas’), New Cumnock ( Voltarol song), Alloway ( Bible class), St James ( Richie Skilling), Portland ( Greg Philp), Tarbolton ( Lauren Howie), St Leonards ( Nancy Jackson), St James ladies ( The Box) and Kingcase ( praise band).
