Young dad drops dead cycling in park
A cyclist aged just 48 has died suddenly while pedalling in a park.
Tragic Jon Borland had been enjoying the sunshine in Ayr’s Rozelle Park on Saturday.
It’s thought the dad- of- two suffered a massive heart- attack.
As well as a keen cyclist Jon, from Coylton, was also a respected amateur photographer.
His daughter Megan posted on his Facebook page, paying tribute to her dad and thanking two cyclists who stayed with him.
She said: “Dad would have taken comfort by the fact one of the gentlemen was a cadet, knowing how passionate he was about it.
“We as a family have taken great comfort and reading all the stories that you have about him.”
His wife Elizabeth said: “He was a great dad and husband who looked after us all and would do anything for us.
“He never went to bed without telling us all that he loved us and that he would see us in the morning.
“My children Brian and Megan are always by my side.”
