- Community Council

A planned six month review of Prestwick’s new parking arrangements is now being carried out.

The news was reported to the latest meeting of Prestwick South Community Council who will be updated in June.

Helen Moonie advised the meeting that the original Prestwick Burgh Provost’s Chair has been found and is on display in the reception area at the County Buildings.

Margaret Toner was also pleased to report that pictures from the old Orangefield building at Prestwick Airport ( some of which were subsequently moved to the Prestwick Indoor Bowling Rink) are now located in storage at Rozelle.

Hugh Hunter noted that the Dementia Friendly Prestwick project continues to make good progress and that the most recent film show had been very successful. Attendance at these events is open to all.

Chairman Meic Evans has written to the Planning Department regarding issues including pedestrian access at Heathfield Retail Park.

It was also noted that rubbish continues to gather in the area behind the shop units and it was agreed that the estate management be required to improve their maintenance of these areas.

The next meeting will be held in Kingcase Church Hall at 7pm on Thursday, May 25. All are welcome to attend and can be given the opportunity to raise any matters of concern affecting the Prestwick South area.
