Locked horns over safety

A face- off will take place between a road boss and villagers over a dangerous main street.

Coylton Community Council and residents are demanding safety changes on the A70, which tears through their village.

Ayrshire Roads Alliance boss Stewart Turner will attend a public meeting in Coylton next week to discuss the problems.

Heavy traffic zooms through the village but there are no restrictions in place at present to control speed.

Many lorries use the route and one recently jackknifed at the entrance of the village school.

The public meeting will take place in the in the Claude Hamilton Hall on May 30 at 7pm.
