Ayr Presbytery is sorry to learn that the Rev William John, former minister at Catrine, who celebrated his 96th birthday in March, is in hospital with a broken leg after a fall at his Ayr home. Mr John is in Ayr County Hospital, and the presbytery agrees to send a letter of good wishes and prayers for the speedy recovery of the veteran clergyman. The presbytery also hears that Darlington New Church in Ayr has bought a new six- apartment manse in Castlehill Road for £ 5000, plus £ 300 to instal solid fuel central heating.
