Short baa- ck and sides Lamb out on town

- Stephen Houston

At the start of last week it was ducklings who made an unbooked appointment with top town barbers K & M’s.

Then on Thursday it was a four- legged friend who popped in to visit.

Stunned staff had spotted a man strolling a pet lamb down Ayr’s Kyle Street on a lead and tartan altar.

And on the way back he stopped at the front door and came in.

She was not in need of a clip, so the shears were promptly put down.

King crimper Mark McCrorie said: “We couldn’t believe our eyes, escpecially after the visit from the ducklings.

“We invited the chap in and he told us he had rescued it from a farming friend after it had nearly died.

“She is quarter the size she should be and if he had not adopted her she was going to the slaughterhouse.”

The pet lamb is pictured with bearded barber Alan Wason.

We told last week how eight ducklings and their mother had to be rescued after plunging from a roof in Kyle Street.
