Burns set for Awkward send- off

-

His dying wish was to stop it happening - but now the Awkward Squad will finally fire over Burns’ grave.

The Fife band will perform at Ellisland Farm Robert Burns Heritage Centre on Saturday, June 17.

And it’s a fitting location - for they took their name from some of the Bard’s last words.

As a customs and excise agent, he was entitled to a musket valley at his graveside but didn’t want untrained recruits to be used, or the Awkward Squad as they were known.

Luckily, the modern- day Fife band are more than up to the job of giving Burns a rousing reception.

Tickets cost £ 10 in advance, with no charge for children under the age of six. Live music will run from 6pm until 10pm with support acts and open- mic spots before the headliners.

For tickets and more information contact Bob’s ABC on 07772877443 or bob23martin@ yahoo. com or Ellisland Farm on 01387 740426.
