Dallas at the double

-

Chris Dallas fired a double to spark wild scenes as Glenafton celebrated their first ever Premier Division title.

Craig McEwan’s Loch Park heroes withstood an early onslaught as Rob Roy tried to keep their own title hopes alive.

But Glens grew into the game and took the lead 10 minutes after the interval when Dallas rose to bullet home a powerful header from a cross by ex- Ranger Kyle McAusland.

Dallas then slipped the ball past keeper Michael McKinven only to see the ball crash off the post.

But there was no stopping Glens and Mick McCann outjumped a defender to head the ball into box for Dallas to thunder a fierce angled shot into the corer of the net.

Sawyers had a headed goal flagged offside while keeper Brian McGarrity dealt with a series of corners before news of Auchinleck’s 3- 0 defeat at Beith ensured they were champions.
