RAITH RESERVOIR Two man and open combined competitio­n: First leg held on June 4; Kevin Hiddleston four fish for 8lb 4oz; Raymond McCutcheon four fish for 11lb 1oz; Rod Wills four fish for 10lb 15oz; William Payne one fish for 3lb 3oz; John Lothian one fish for 3lb 14oz; Bill Gibson one fish for 3lb; Tom Watson two fish for 6lb 11oz; Allan Watson ( jnr) one fish for 2lb 6oz; William Hainey one fish for 2lb 8oz. Annual visitors: Tarbolton Field and Sports Club held their competitio­n at Raith and had a great day. Fly loch Springwate­r held the John Logan birthday team bash on the fly and bait loch.

First on the fly was Neil Shankland and Scott Crossan, second John Brown and Jacky Baillie, third John Logan and Jim Hastings.

Winners on bait loch: First were Kenny Bell and Paul Cuthbert; 2nd: Jamie Watson and Graeme; 3rd: Jim Logan and Stephen Logan. Heaviest fish went to Jim Bigger, Heaviest catch went to Neil Shankland.

Springwate­r summer series was won by Gordon Taylor; miracle baits with roach and bream.

Jim Smith caught a nice carp of 12lb; Dezz caught four carp and a nice tench. 25lb.

Some very close matches with Carp, Skimmers and Tench making up all the weights but most importantl­y the match can be won off any peg.

Fly Fishery: Lots of big fish getting caught; Alec McCristal released 16 including the resident Golden Trout Goldie & netted him £ 190.90, big thanks to Alec for putting £ 25.90 of the winnings back in the prize fund. Well done to Graham Bickett on winning the Trout Masters Fish off at the fishery. The Tarbolton and Failford A/ c Annual Evening two fish Competitio­n will be held at the fishery on Tuesday, June 13 from 5- 10pm.

2 for 4lb 1oz. Poaching is taking place on Ayr Angling Club’s stretches of water, the Salmon Fishery Board have claimed.

The club say any member caught will be prosecuted and will be dealt with by Ayr AC.

All club lochs and the River Ayr have been stocked for all.
