Ronan’s Girvan supercar drive

Star snapped in £ 200,000 McLaren

- Edwin Lawrence

Superstar Ronan Keating drove through Girvan – in a £ 200,000 supercar.

The ex- Boyzone singer was snapped by Linda Thomson, cruising through town in his McLaren 650s.

Ronan was alone in the car and heading south on the A77, via Girvan’s Dalrymple Street, on Friday evening.

He is likely to have been heading for Cairnryan, to catch a late- night ferry to his native Ireland.

The McLaren 650s – which has 650bhp – has a top speed of 207 mph and 0- 60mph time of 2.9 seconds.

But Ronan nursed it through a one- way section of Dalrymple Street at closer to 20mph.

He would have been able to open it up on the twisty road south on either side of Ballantrae.

The colour of his car is Storm Grey, which may be a homage to his wife.

The picture was taken outside the Body Matters gym, the Thomson family business.

Linda said: “We got a call from one of our gym regulars, Gaz Wilmer, to say an amazing car was on it its way – in about 20 seconds!

“Gaz knows that Jack loves a smart car, and we rushed out the front door.

“I took the picture with my phone, with Jack beside me.

“Ronan gave us a thumbs- up and a smile, as he drove past.”

Linda added: “I don’t think Gaz realised it was a celebrity’s car.

“He didn’t mention the R8NAN number plate.”

Ronan has three children with ex- wife Yvonne Connolly, from whom he split in 2010 after 12 years of marriage.

Yvonne, 43, lives in Malahide, an affluent coastal town outside Dublin. Their children are now aged 18, 16 and 11.

Ronan, 40, also has a sister and three brothers in Ireland.

He had a fourth child – his first with Australian model wife Storm, 35 – in April this year.

The couple said ‘ I do’ in the grounds of Archerfield House in West Lothian in 2015.

And Storm surprised her new husband with a top- of- the- range last edition Land Rover Defender.

Ronan Keating made his name as the lead singer with Boyzone in the 1990s. He became a solo artist with hits like When You Say Nothing At All and Life is a Rollercoaster.

He has gigs this month in Germany and Switzerland.
