Music fans will find a real treat on the banks of the River Doon this weekend.

The first- ever Doonfest kicks off in Dalrymple on Friday with a weekend of performances and workshops that will turn the sleepy village into a bustling hive of activity.

On Friday performers like Mike Daly’s Rhythm Kings and rockabilly favourites The Peas perform, while Saturday sees a Possibility Screams open mic for young talent and a performance from the popular Cafeorchestra.

Sunday changed things up, with opera singer Cheryl Forbes in town before Karen Henderson provides musical accompaniment for a picnic lunch by The Doon.
