We could be best bar none

Ayr pub scene is set to boom

-

“strip” – that’s even better.

Social media has also had a massive impact on socialising. Youngsters can split up to different venues – but still stay in contact with their pals.

If your pub’s atmosphere is good, bad or anywhere in between a few texts will spread the message that will attract – or deter - dozens more customers.

But it’s not enough that the entertainment sector is improving – the whole town must improve with it. Ayr Renaissance is a start... but it was a start by our former administration.

We have a NEW council in charge – and the public are desperate for a puff of white smoke above Castle Grayskull to signal that positive changes are on their way. Are they up to the challenge? Well... let’s challenge them right now! So...

Dear SNP and Labour coalition,

Would you be prepared to pledge that before May 30, 2018 – exactly one year into your administration – you will have...

1) Put in place a long term strategy to fix the mess that is Ayr Station Hotel?

2) Put in place a long term strategy to fix the mess that is Belleisle House Hotel?

3) Taken decisive steps to start work on the proposed new Ayr Marina ( The one in your election manifesto)

4) Taken decisive steps to start work on the new Ayr Swimming Complex ( That’s in your manifesto as well!)

Leader Douglas Campbell was quick to put pen to paper when I criticised the councillors pay rise award. Hopefully he’s lost none of that energy.

Four pledges, Douglas. Can you make them?

Bob is taking a well- earned summer break over the next two weeks, and will return in August.
