Brad bags the fish of week

SPRINGWATE­R FISHERY Coarse loch fish of the week went to Brad Lang with a carp of 20lb.

Russell Jardine caught two carp biggest 8lb 6oz, Ian Radburn had a good catch of carp and bream, Andy Bell caught a nice 14lb common carp and six bream up to 5lb. Still fishing well for silvers.

Fly loch: Kenny Murdoch released a cracking 15lb rainbow, Alex Anderson caught four fish for 9lb 12oz and released one at 10lb and another at 7lb, Woody four for 10lb 2oz, John Galloway four for 9lb, David McDowell four for 8lb 6oz, Gary Davidson two for 6lb 12oz, Ian Batchelor four for 10lb 12oz, Mick McKinney two for 7lb, Jim Bigger six c/ r, Sarah Cross five c/ r, John Brown four c/ r, Davie Howie released a nice 10lb bow plus another five, R Ferris c/ r five, Mr Wilson c/ r three, Kenny Murdoch c/ r 14.

Bait loch: John Alerdyce four for 9lb, Brian three for 5lb 10oz, Mr Devlin one for 4lb 6oz, Kath one for 2lb 6oz, R Nicol one for 3lb 4oz. BROOMHILL COARSE Mark Cook won the Wednesday evening Rover Match with 32lb.

Second was Gary Black with 26lb while Tam Penman was third with 25lb.

Round five of the Majors Frenzee Summer League: 1 Davie Matthew 33lb, 2 Gordy Taylor 31lb 2oz, 3 Sam Paterson 31lb 1oz.

Lots of skimmers, F1s and carp up to 9lb made up most of the weights with pellet and worm being the best bait.

Fly pond: The boat was back in removing some of the weed last week and with the water temperatur­e down slightly, there were Rainbows stocked from 8lb to 10lb.

Lots of fish caught over the weekend. Best flies were Yellow Dancers and Yellow Owls.
