Pervert chef fled to work at top hotel

Paedophile fired after Post tells new bosses about his vile crime

- Sarah Hilley

A paedophile chef who hoarded thousands of child porn images fled to Arran to work in a top hotel.

Michael Kelly pled guilty to having the indecent images at his former home in Minishant when he appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.

After he was busted he flitted to the island escape, where he took a job at the plush Auchrannie Hotel.

The pervert’s bail address was listed as staff accommodation at the leafy venue.

The Ayrshire Post alerted the hotel this week who did not know about Kelly’s vile crime.

A spokesman for the hotel said: “We were not aware of the matter until yesterday. We take matters like this very seriously.

“Mr Kelly is no longer employed at the Auchrannie.”

Armed with a warrant police officers raided Kelly’s former residence in Main Street Minishant before seizing his computer.

Investigators discovered the sick images after examining his computer.

Sheriff Desmond Leslie added Kelly, 33, to the sex offender’s register and ordered background reports to be prepared on him.

Kelly pled guilty to taking or permitting to be taken or making indecent photographs of children between July 1, 2013 and September 29, 2016.

He is due back in court to face his punishment on August 22.
