Belleisle buzzes with new visitors
There has been a huge jump in visitors to Belleisle park.
Crowds of 200,000 are flocking to the beautiful estate every year - up by 100 per cent since 2014.
A free celebration will take place on Saturday to mark the estate’s £ 3.7 million makeover.
Parklife will be the motto of the day and there will be activities for children, crafts and archery between 1pm to 5pm.
It will toast the £ 3.7million regeneration of the council park.
And the people behind the facelift have plent y to boast about.
So far the Belleisle Conservatory has reopened, the wall garden received a makeover and there is a new children’s play area.
Two new rangers have been hired to boast activities.
Councillor Ian Cochrane said the community day will celebrate “fantastic progress.”
The council, Friends of Belleisle, Belleisle Conservatory Ltd and the Heritage Lottery Fund are some of the key players involved in the facelift.
Next up is is refurbishment of the old stable block.
