Emergency at Prestwick

A transatlantic flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Prestwick Airport on Saturday.

The Air France flight from Paris to Vancouver landed around 1pm after declaring a “technical issue” — feared to be a fire on board.

It touched down safely, with roads around the airport understood to have been closed off for the landing.

It refuelled at Prestwick before continuing its journey after safety checks.
