Water change to the town

What a difference a few months can make.

It’s only been five months since plans to transform the bottom end of Ayr High Street were given the green light.

But as our picture from this weekend shows, it’s already a world of difference.

The back end of the old Woolworths and Watt Brothers buildings are gone, offering an uninterrupted view of the High Street from across the river for the first time in decades.

The next transformation will be even more stunning, as the gap site becomes modern offices looking out across the river.
