Linda moves in as Tim and Cheryl move on
The Salvation Army is ready to salute its new leader at the weekend.
Major Linda Watson will be welcomed into the fold at the Ayr Community Church on John Street on Sunday.
The 10.45am service will be led by divisional leaders Majors Lynn and Raelton Gibbs.
Linda will carry on the good work of lieutenants Tim and Cheryl Stone who have traded Ayr for Motherwell.
Her new job will be a demanding one as she effectively takes on the role of two.
Tim and Cheryl were involved in a foodbank, befriending groups and IT classes.
The departing pair have left a strong legacy by reaching out the community.
They were sad to leave the seaside town. The Salvation Army boughts its headquarters, the former Wallacetown Parish Church, in 2012.
Everyone is welcome to the Linda’s ‘ installation’ service.
