Summer Sizzler in store at Ayr
It’s Summer Sizzler Raceday at Ayr on Monday with the seven race card under orders at 1.55pm.
The opening contest, a six furlong novice stakes, could see Simon Crisford try for another winner at the track with Well Suited, having been successful last Monday with Century Dream. This colt was just pipped on his only start at Wolverhampton two weeks ago and should be hard to beat.
This stable also has Discreet Hero, a winner at York last year, entered in the Class 4 five furlong race in which recent course winner Dark Defender, from the Keith Dalgleish yard, also holds an entry.
Irish trainer John McConnell has entered Monday’s winner Lucent Dream in the one mile two furlong handicap and I for one will be backing this again if he takes his chance as he won so impressively.
He won’t have it all his own way though as Mike Smith has Gworn entered and this course specialist should be thereabouts as should the consistent Testa Rossa from the Jim Goldie yard.
The sizeable entries could well mean come declarations time we have an extra race so remember to check our website for any changes to the starting times.
At the moment, it’s first race 1.55pm, last race 5.10pm with gates open at 11.55am.
