Gimson in semis

Graeme Gimson ( Prestwick St Cuthbert) became the second player to claim a place in the semi finals of the Ayrshire Champion of Champions Trophy when he beat Iain Fraser ( Troon Portland) at St Cuthbert’s 21st hole.

Gimson will face either Steven Stamper ( Turnberry) or Gordon Munro ( Caprington) in the semi- final at Royal Troon on Friday, August 4.

Earlier, Michael Smyth ( Royal Troon) booked his semi spot with a 3& 2 win over Scott Ireland ( Prestwick St Nicholas). He now plays either David Macdonald ( Largs) or Robert Adams ( Abbotsford).
