Christine battling on

-

Friends and family of Christine Brown are attempting to raise more money for her fight against cancer.

Christine, of Ayr, was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2016 at just 36 and has been undergoing treatment ever since.

Her chemotherapy has been completed and her hair has grown back - but other treatment will continue for the forseeable future.

And an function will be held at Ayr United’s hospitality suite to raise money towards these treatments.

It will take place on Friday, September 1 at 7pm- midnight which will include guest acts Destination Anywhere and David Burrells.

Money raised will also go towards Willow Foundation Cancer Charity, who arranged for Christine to get a break weekend in Southport earlier this year.

Christine’s friend, Claire Dunn, has helped arrange this night.

Claire said: “This event looks to be really good actually and I hope it lives upto expectation.

“We held an event at my house before which ended up being bigger than we thought it would have been.

“It was a pampering day for some girls and around 30 people turned up and we raised £ 1,500.

“Christine is doing really well with her treatment.

“However, she had a hysterectomy which was a big deal - so that has been hard for her to take.”
